6 Ways to Make Space in a Tiny Kitchen

A tiny kitchen can be hard to work with, but there are many ways to make the best of it! Your kitchen is your precious space, whether it’s big or small. A tiny kitchen can actually be very enjoyable when decorated and remodeled right. Here are a few creative ideas that can change your tiny kitchen space into an inviting and open one. Let’s make it work.

1. CHECK UNDER THE CABINETS IN THE KITCHEN

It’s possible that your upper cabinets are overflowing. But what about those beneath them? Utilize the undersides of your cabinets to free up valuable counter space. Paper towel holders and coffee mug hooks are tried-and-true cabinet bottom repairs, but why not add a little shelf to house your salt and pepper shakers? Or how about a magnetic strip to hold a handy spice rack if you don’t have space for a cabinet spice rack?

2. THINK ABOUT YOUR REFRIGERATOR

Your refrigerator’s top is around two feet by three feet of open kitchen space. To store pots, pans, baking sheets, and chopping boards, use a wooden or metal organizer. Use a step stool to access your microwave and coffee pot, which you may store there. Alternatively, you can use it as a tiny pantry by storing shelf-stable things such as cereals, wheat, oils, baking goods, and pasta there.

3. MAKE USE OF THE TOPS OF YOUR CABINETS

The tops of your cabinets provide excellent storage space. You can store special-occasion dishes and even pantry goods that you don’t need right now up there. If you’re concerned about how it will all look, hide your hoard in some attractive baskets.

4. USE THE SIDES OF YOUR CABINETS

You’ve got a few square feet of extra storage space since your cabinets don’t butt up against a wall? Add shelves, hang a plant rail, and do so much more with the sides of your cabinets.

5. ADD A MIRROR

A mirror (even a small one) does plenty to make an area feel bigger (way to all that pondered light!). Plus, you may test it out to see what kinds of humorous faces you are making at the same time as you stir or chop.

6. SPREAD OUT

Who said that the kitchen needs to stay in the kitchen? Move your pantry cabinet or a baker’s rack in the hallway or some other room. Put some of your favorite dishes in the dining or living room.
