the Work Triangle

Kitchen design always accounts for the main points of “the work triangle,” which are the refrigerator, sink, and oven. While preparing meals, cooks will be moving back and forth from these points, and for maximum comfort and efficiency, the spaces between these three points need to remain unimpeded. One general rule of thumb for the work triangle is for each side of the triangle to measure between four and nine feet, with the sum of the three sides not to be higher than 26 feet.
