Hickory wood is a popular choice for cabinets because it is so hard and resistant to shock. Because of its unique combination of strength and toughness, hickory is used in other applications that subject the wood to a lot of wear and tear such as golf clubs and drumsticks. Hickory wood is generally a light reddish brown in color.
